French politicians are practically expected to have a slew of mistresses. Dutch politicians (even the ones from the Christian Democrat party) would never wear their religion on their sleeves so much as US politicians. Silvio Berlusconi? He's basically made it a point to be a macho bastard... it's his political appeal. It’s a relatively Anglo-Saxon thing to care so much about the squeeky-clean personal life of their politicians.
