The only hesitation I have always had with this analysis is the various live concert footage of hte Beatles playing the song. For example, the Paris concert - definitely not 'overdubbed' - has the chord sounding - to these ears - just like the record. I had always assumed the chord was Paul playing G, John playing G and George playing F. But that's just my theory.

Who is John Galt?

I heard the Mistery Worker met his match in the form of a Mistery Shopper. Galt kept accosting patrons at the Starbuck's where he worked with discussions of Starship Troopers and got sacked.

"is law enforcement really so completely mechanized that changing a law that probably didn’t require a whole lot of wild-eyed enthusiasm to enforce in the first place really gums up the works to this extent?"

Sadly yes. In this instance it becomes a question of how does the street officer deal with it? Do they confiscate the drugs? Can they be sued for that? Do they write a ticket, if so what do they do with or about the drugs? If they put the drugs in to evidence how long do they have to keep them?

What the laws fail to do is to actually make possession legal, which would allow the officers to simply leave the drugs with the person. If they don't want to do that then the law needs to be clear on what should be done with the drugs and how. Otherwise it simply opens the door for civil suits as people file in attempts to get their drugs back or to be paid by the confiscating agency for the drugs which were destroyed.

That's a good point. Technically, if he engaged in such activities, he'd be guilty of Treason. I'd like to see that too.

I might not remember my American history all that well, but if he's calling for the violent secession of a US state (or states) from the Union...wouldn't that be the second Civil War, not second Revolutionary War?

If you want to check it out yourself, enter the coordinates 31N, 25W in Google Earth's "Fly to" box.

Oh, and remember to zoom out. The modern mind simply cannot take in the vastness at full magnification.
